As we go forward as Physicians for the Prevention of Gun Violence we think we need to have more connection to our group. We want to get your ideas and support.
Support us by liking or SHARING ppgv on Facebook. This gives us a way to reach you and your friends with our message.
We are on Twitter, but that is more alien to us oldsters. If you prefer it tell us and we will figure it out.
We are into our third fiscal year. It’s DUES Time– go to the website and under Donate you can pay your $50- $25 for students and affiliates. Or send Andy Zweifler a check at 1706 S. University 48103. If this is an imposition any amount will help. We have increased financial needs for literature, office supplies and printing, staff, and travel. Plus, we’d like to build our coffers so that we can bring a speaker in the fall.
A major PPGV effort in organizing is well underway. Anne Kittendorf, family physician from Dexter is preparing resolutions to take to the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) Annual Meeting in July. These resolutions, if passed, will allow MAFP to become a state leader in the work of making gun safety and gun injury a public health issue. If you are a FP and can go with us to Lansing July 18 we really need you. More about this later.
